Literal joy?
Great Expansion! We play a version of "two of a kind" all of the time, where everyone rolls an 8 sided die before each turn, then you pick a card form the owner of the lowest roll. When you are the low roll you loose your pick. Play continues as in your suggested rules. I recommend "Exploding Kittens" and all its variations.
